Sama Rak was filmed between 18 October and 18 December 2017.We travelled throughout Senegal and its different regions. Every location filmed will correspond to a theme of the film with, for example, the waterfall and mountain of Dindéfello for the film's adventurous side, the Petite-Côte for culture (pirogue racing, works by Kébé, False Lions, etc.) and Saly and Toubab Dialaw for tourism. Not forgetting the hints of Belgian culture (Van Damme, Tintin, Manneken Pis, etc.)
We were also the last film to be filmed at Léopold Sédar Senghor Airport just before it closed.
The storyline is simple; it is the meeting between two young people, David, a Belgian, and Daouda, a Senegalese beggar child. Through a magical process, these two individuals will awaken to life and to each other's body.
We would like to thank our partners, without whom none of this would have been possible: the Province of Namur, the Claire and Michel Lemay Fund, Wallonia-Brussels International, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and Solidaris.
We are currently looking for other partners for the film post-production. We have also created a fund for the project follow-up: OUR FUNDING POT
